What Makes this Set So Special
► Eight-way hand-tied spring suspension - Built to Last a Lifetime!

Our set has a traditional eight-way, hand-tied construction - the ultimate in durability and comfort (view photo). Each spring can move independently in any direction. Superior to "No-Sag" sinuous springs systems (view photo) and machine made FlexolatorTM suspensions (view photo). Don't be misled by those that tell you sinuous springs and FlexolatorsTM springs are as good as eight-way hand tied systems. Also be aware of sets, often imports, usually available in one color only, constructed with an "Interwoven web base and webbed back construction" (also referred to as "Pirelli Webbing") A webbing-base and back construction is essentially a rubberized material, woven like what you might find on an "old lawn chair." This type of construction usually sags and "bottoms out" within a few years (view photo). Drop in spring units are better than sinuous wire springs, but not as good as a true 8 way hand tied system. The drop in unit is not built into the frame. It is a pre-assembled unit attached to the frame by several screws along the top of the frame and usually held in place by bands or wooden rails along the bottom of the frame. The system will sometimes have cording tying the springs to each other and to the sides but the cording has minimal functional value as the springs are held in place by metal clips and the springs cannot move freely (view photo). Eight-way hand tied systems are found in only the very best quality sets, from top-end manufacturers and are built to last a lifetime. This system gives the furniture an even comfort level and that will not bottom out. Sinuous spring and webbing systems are found in all the low end sets-sofas selling for $399, for example. Sinuous wire, FlexalatorsTM and webbing systems suspensions can only move in one direction, up and down. 8 way tied systems can take hours to build. Sinuous wire springs for example can be installed in a few minutes. Because an 8 way tied system is done by hand it is considered to be more reliable. It is not entirely uncommon to hear of an 8 way hand tied sofa holding up for several decades. Some, in fact, can last as long as 50 years.This set is a sizable investment, make sure it will last by choosing the proper construction. Ottomans do not have eight-way hand-tied construction.

► Down Blend Seat Cushions are always free.
Each piece has a breathable back for sumptuous seating. Down seat cushions not only sit better, they look better as the cushions "crown" and have a more natural flowing appearance. Down blend back cushions are available on many styles. There a few styles; such as styles with tufted seats, that cannot be made with down seat cushions.

► Kiln-dried, double-doweled, corner blocked, hardwood frames.Built in the USA!
These frames are milled in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia, not outside of the USA. Frames are also glued, screwed and stapled and padded for additional comfort.

Each piece features secured yet removable seat cushions for ease of cleaning, service and superb seating comfort. This type of cushioning enables you to rotate seat cushions to minimize normal crushing and to fine tune the back padding for individual taste. Some styles such as tufted styles do not have removable seat cushions.

►Premium quality aniline dyed leathers.
Choose from a selection of 6 different leather styles in over 56 colors. Free swatches are available on request.

• Salem is a  full grain European leather that is soft and smooth to the touch. This leather has a protective finish that makes it easy to care for. 
• Essex is a high quality top grain leather that is soft and silky to the touch. The leather has a satin finish and a warm natural glow.
• Newbury is a quality waxed pull up leather that is soft to the touch. It will distress but most surface scratches easily rub out.
• York is a high quality semi-aniline dyed leather that is very soft to the touch yet considered durable and resistant to scratching. The leather has somewhat of a distressed look and easy to care for.
• Chelsea is a high quality waxed pull-up leather. This leather nicely distresses. Most surface scratches are easily removed.
