  1. What do you charge for shipping?


    We offer "Free Shipping on Almost Everything". Depending on what you have purchased the item will be shipped by a freight company such as ABF, UPS or FEDEX. Certain items are delivered to your home and certain items are delivered by a white glove delivery service. In every case our objective is to safely delivery your item in a cost effective manner so that we can offer competitive pricing. There are a few exceptions to our "Free Shipping on Almost Everything" policy. For example we do charge shipping to remote areas. We will do our best to provide you the most reasonable rates available. There are some areas that we cannot deliver to. For example we can't deliver to Islands, Alaska or Hawaii but we can deliver to the warehouse of your forwarder that services your island, Alaska or Hawaii. It will be your responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping from the mainland warehouse to your island or Alaska and Hawaii. There are also some areas of the country where large delivery vehicles are not allowed on public roads or within city limits due to road restrictions or local ordinances. The delivery company may not be aware of these restrictions and neither would we. In this case we will deliver your order to the nearest accessible warehouse. It will be your responsibility to arrange for and pay for the delivery from the warehouse to your home. Please contact us if you live in Canada. Another exception to our "Free Shipping on Almost Everything" policy is if you order item that is normally part of a group such as a single ottoman. In this case we will call you and advise you of the additional shipping charge or offer you a refund. We also charge a partial shipping charge for our "Relaxr Style Gliders", $149 per chair and $99 per set of replacement cushions. This covers the cost of brokerage and customs as these chairs are from Canada. We charge actual shipping charges for our parsons chairs. In addition their my be additional fees if special arrangements are needed to deliver your furniture. These would include any additional local expenses such as the need for renting a small truck to get the furniture down an a driveway not accessible by the delivery vehicle. In this case it would be the reasonability of the purchaser to arrange for this vehicle or the need for hoisting or a lift where again it would be the responsibility of the purchaser to make arrangements for this service. In some cases you may need to arrange for the manager of your building or similar representative of the building to be on site. In this case any fees associated with the hiring of this person will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

  2. How long will my order take?
    We have carefully selected our manufacturers as manufacturers that can deliver without lengthy delays, but on occasion an item is delayed or backordered or you may live in a remote area. Please be patient we will do our best to deliver your furniture as quickly as possible. At the time of order please contact us for your expected delivery time. All delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

  3. How will I know when my furniture is arriving?
    If your items arrives by FEDEX or UPS their normal delivery policies will apply. If the item arrives by a freight carrier such as ABF their local terminal will notify you and set up an appointment. Should an in home delivery service be used for your delivery you will be generally contacted about one week prior to your delivery and they will set up a delivery time and generally offer a 4 hour window. Please be advised that the drivers are making many deliveries on their trip and as with all things in life the unexpected can occur. Drivers can be delayed due to breakdowns or prior deliveries and generally drivers will try to notify you of if they are delayed. Please be patient should their be a delay. Should you not be home for your delivery and a new delivery is needed actually delivery charges for the new delivery will apply. The delivery will have to be rescheduled for the drivers next trip to the area.

  4. We only use Asset Based Delivery Companies (they own their own trucks) for our in home deliveries.


    At Casco Bay we only use private family owned delivery companies such as Sun Delivery and Peace Transport for our larger furniture items such as our slipcover and leather furniture. (There are some exclusions such as ottomans). Your order is loaded on the truck at the delivery companies final destination warehouse and it is not offloaded from that truck until it reaches your home. The same two drivers stay with your order for the entire trip. When they arrive at your home they will unwrap your order and place the order in your home. The benefit of this type of delivery is that you can inspect your order before the driver leaves. This type of service is admittedly a little slower but it is worth it as transportation damage is very rare. We do not used asset based carriers for delivery to and from Canada due to the fact that we do not know of any that perform this service.

  5. Home Delivery to Remote Locations


    There are certain remote locations in the contiguous United states where their can be extended delivery delays due to the fact that the home delivery companies do not deliver to these remote areas on a frequent basis.

    Due to the extra cost involved in shipping to these locations:

    There is a $199 delivery fee for deliveries to parts of Northern: Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont and Wisconsin.

    There is a $199 delivery fee to Oregon and Washington.

    There is a $249 delivery fee for single items and $399 delivery fee for multiple items to Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

  6. In Home Delivery to Alaska and Hawaii.


    If you live in Alaska or Hawaii we will deliver to your forwarder in California for free. We will deliver to your forwarder in Washington State for $199 through Sun Delivery. However you would have to arrange delivery on the barge to Alaska or the shipping company in California to Hawaii at your own expense. We do not offer home delivery to Alaska and Hawaii. Certain items, such as Uttermost that can ship by UPS or FEDEX can ship directly to your home but there may be additional fees to these locations.

  7. What if I cannot be home for my delivery?


    If you cannot be home for your delivery and you appoint another person to represent you please be advised that this person, no matter who it is, will become your authorized representative signing your Bill of Lading on your behalf.

  8. What happens if I miss my delivery appointment?


    When the delivery service is ready to deliver your furniture they will schedule a delivery time window with you. If you miss your delivery window for any reason the delivery service will  charge a re-delivery fee for having to make a second trip. In the event that Casco Bay Furniture is charged the re-delivery by the delivery service this fee will be charged to the card you used to purchase your furniture.
